The marble comes from the hills either side of the gorge between Kasaba and the sea at Demre/Myra
Traditional ambar (granary/store) at Eskihisar near Elmali. This was the first one we found.
If you look, there are lots of ambars around. These are a large group at Gökceören
Mud brick house in Elmali. This was the first one we noticed, but there are lots around in most villages
Tending sheep at Girdev. Girdev is 1800m elevation. Snow-bound in winter and people migrate here in summer.

'Parliament' building of the Lykian League at Patara. Restoration funded specifically by the national parliament of the Turkish Republic. The Lykian league was a confederation of independent 'cities' with votes in the parliament according to proportional representation. Patara was the political capital.
Interior, parliament building, Patara. The Greek city states were always at war, unlike the cities of the Lykian League. The League is considered to be the governance model for the US, UN and EU.
The oracle of Appollo Suris. Appollo is the god of oracles eg, at Delphi, and there are several water oracles of Appollo in western Turkey. Anyway, Appollo is now thought to have originated in Anatolia rather than Delos/Greece.
